Plans for a massive trash incinerator at the former Seneca Army Depot are drawing heat from a local environmental group. In fact Gas Free Seneca co-founder Dr. Joe Campbell has taken to calling the trash burner , the “insane-er-rator ” . The proposal submitted recently to the Romulus Town Planning Board would see tons of trash burned each day to make electricity . Campbell says people nearby should be up in arms.
Campbell says the last thing the area needs is more trash imported from New York City. The company that wants to build the plant is called Circular EnerG.
The company has a mailing address in Rochester but no listed phone number. We could not find an e-mail address either.
