Robert H. Quade, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (November 1, 2017), at the Homestead in Penn Yan.
Family and friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tues. (Nov. 7), in St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Geneva. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
Robert was born on Sept. 14, 1928, and was a son of the late William and Ida (Cook) Quade. He was a native of Rochester, N.Y. and a 1951 graduate of the University of Rochester, with a B.S. in Business Administration, where he earned letters while on the swimming team. He also graduated from the Graduate School of Savings Banking, Brown University. A U.S. Navy veteran of both WWII and the Korean War, he worked most of his adult life as vice president of Rochester (NY) Savings Bank as well as other financial institutions. Robert retired in 1997 from the U.S. Small Business Administration while in Hartford, Conn. Bob loved life to the fullest and was the happiest in his gardens and outdoors where he enjoyed boating, fishing, hiking and swimming.
Robert leaves behind his best friend and wife of 44 years, Beryl Thomas Quade of Geneva; children William (Rhonda) Quade, and their children Aaron and Michael Quade of Hammondsport, N.Y., Douglas (Susan) Quade, and their children, Megan (Jesse) Pratt of Redfield, N.Y. and James Quade of Keuka Park, N.Y., Anne (Greg) Pelton, and their children Gregory, Elizabeth, Mary and William Pelton of Towson, Md., Patrick (Lynn) Quade, and their children Robert and Nicholas Quade of Rindge, N.H., Justin Quade and his children Jonathan and Evan Quade of Geneva; two great-grandchildren Quinn and Olivia Pratt.
