Cayuga County’s unemployment rate in September was down slightly from last September. The monthly Labor Department report released on Tuesday puts the rate at 4.5%, compared to 4.7% a year ago.
The dip follows 3 straight months of rising non-seasonally adjusted jobless numbers. September’s rate is lower than the statewide rate of 4.7%, but above the national average of 4.1%.
