In the first, Auburn knocked out West Genesee, 38-30; and in the nightcap, Jordan-Elbridge fell to Sherburne-Earlville, 31-19. In other action, Herkimer downed Port Byron/Union Springs, 28-14; Batavia bounced Wayne, 36-28; Clyde-Savannah clobbered Perry/Mt. Morris, 63-21; Victor vanquished Edison, 49-6; Livonia whipped Waterloo, 61-12; Hornell blanked Newark, 44-0; ER/Gananda no problem with Mynderse, 42-13; and Canandaigua coasted by Spencerport, 28-7. In boys soccer sectionals, Hilton edged Victor, 2-1; Brighton shutout Canandaigua, 2-0; HF-L downed Wilson, 1-0; Wayne wasted Batavia/Alexander, 4-0; Pittsford Sutherland pounded Geneva, 5-0; and Naples over Alfred-Almond, 2-0.
On the girls side, Pal-Mac upended Newark, 3-1; Aquinas dropped Mynderse, 4-2; Williamson bested Marcus Whitman, 3-1; Marion eked by Alexander, 1-0; and Warsaw romped over Red Jacket, 4-0.
In mens college soccer, Keuka played to a scoreless draw with Penn; and FLCC upended Roberts Wesleyan, 3-1. On the women’s side, Keuka fell to Penn, 2-1.
In field hockey, William Smith topped St. Lawrence, 3-1; and Keuka stymied by Morrisville, 3-1.
In the NHL, the Buffalo Sabres lost to Vancouver, 4-2; while in the AHL, the Rochester Amerks downed by Charlotte, 5-2; and Binghamton nipped the Syracuse Crunch, 3-2.
