Two Bath men have been arrested after one allegedly bought a gun for the other, a convicted felon.
Jason Christian is accused of purchasing a rifle from a Bath gun shop back in January for Brandon Plank, who was convicted of burglary in Steuben County and spent close to three years in state prison before being released on parole. Troopers say the Bath business was unaware of the transaction between the two men and are cooperating with the investigation. Christian is charged with offering a false instrument for filing and criminal purchase or disposal of a weapon, both felonies. He was released following his arraignment in Bath Village Court.
Plank is charged with criminal purchase or disposal of a weapon and offering a false instrument for filing, both felonies, along with a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a weapon. Plank was sent to Steuben County Jail.
