Gladys Mae Ferris Baildon, 85, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Oct. 4, 2017 with her family by her side.
Gladys was born Oct. 16, 1931 in Venice Center, N.Y., to the late Howard and Dora Ferris. After graduating from Moravia schools, she attended Cortland Business Institute. She was employed at Kilborne Brothers in Moravia as a bookkeeper where she met the love of her life, David Baildon. She wed David in 1954 when they started their life together on a farm in Venice Center. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Gladys was an avid collector of all things antique and collectible, a hobby she spent countless hours enjoying, and was a volunteer for Southern Cayuga First Aid during their annual rummage sales.
She is survived by her six children, David (Nancy), of King Ferry, Steven, of Union Springs, Susan (William) Wade, of Moravia, Ellen (William), of King Ferry, Peter, of Clinton, and William (Amy), of Southwick, Mass.; 10 grandchildren, Katherine Baildon, Charlotte Baildon (Troy) Reeves, Nelson (Sydney) Wade and Alison (Chris) Reed, William (Michaela) and Jeremy Marsh, Lauren and Kevin Baildon, and Megan and Amanda Baildon; and three great-grandchildren, Nora and Dexter Wade, and Madeline Marsh.
