Carolyn M. Wilcox, 86, of Meridian, passed away unexpectedly but comfortably, Sept. 24, 2017, in Richmond Hill, Ga. at the home of her son.
She was born Oct. 17, 1930 in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Harold Langley and Sara Woolson Langley. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed painting, swimming, speed skating, and riding horses in her younger years. She was a former member of the Cato Seniors Club and Cato Union Church. She was also a substitute dispatcher and volunteer for the Scat Van in the past. She was a huge Mets fan.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ira A. Wilcox (2006); a sister, Betty J. and her husband, Michael Murphy; her beloved sister-in-law, Catherine and her husband, Joseph LaVigne; a niece, Catherine; nephew, Patrick, and several beloved cousins.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Jan M. Halbach, of Elbridge; three sons, James P. (Joyce) Murphy, of Camillus, Daniel E. (Catherine) Murphy, of Georgia, and Timothy G. Murphy, of Meridian; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special friends, Faya Falwell, Vicki Roth, Alice and Don Clary, Barb Clemmons, and Betty B. and Joe V.; also her beloved Maggie.

Calling hours will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2017 at the Keysor-Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Cato. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following in the Meridian Cemetery.
