In other action, Sandy Creek took out Weedsport, 38-16; Jordan-Elbridge blanked Port Byron/Union Springs, 34-0; Wayne knocked off ER/Gananda, 11-6; Newark no problem with Midlakes, 30-6; and Clyde-Savannah manhandled Marcus Whitman, 34-8. Two more games on tap for you today, as Dundee heads to Red Jacket at 1 o’clock on WFLR, and in college gridiron, Syracuse travels to North Carolina State for a noontime kickoff on Finger Lakes News Radio.
In girls soccer, Marion all over Bishop Kearney, 7-0; Red Jacket downed Geneva, 3-1; Williamson shutout Red Creek, 4-0; Westhill wasted Jordan-Elbridge, 9-0; and Canandaigua upended Irondequoit, 3-0.
On the boys’ side, Gananda and Red Creek played to a 2-2 draw; and Williamson tripped up Sodus, 4-1.
In the major leagues, the Yankees shutout Toronto, 4-0; while the Mets dropped one to Philadelphia, 6-2.
