In college girdiron, in a game you heard on Finger Lakes News Radio, Syracuse’s rally fell short in a 35-26 loss to #25 LSU, dropping to 2-2; and Hobart moves to 3-1 with a 34-17 win over Endicott.
In boys soccer, Cortland blanked Auburn, 2-0; HF-L vanquished Victor, 4-0; Pittsford-Mendon topped Canandaigua, 2-0; Wayne and Irondequoit played to a 1-1 draw; Marion raced by Kendall, 5-3; and ER eked by Geneseo, 2-1.
On the girl’s side, Victor bashed Brighton, 6-0; and Greece Olympia nipped Newark, 4-3.
In men’s college soccer, Hobart and Skidmore tied at 1; Keuka whitewashed Cobleskill, 4-0; and Cayuga CC doubled up FLCC, 4-2.
In women’s action, William Smith easily over Skidmore, 5-1; FLCC shutout Cayuga CC, 4-0; and Keuka all over Cobleskill, 10-0.
