Six counties in the Finger Lakes are getting money for emergency management. The federal funding is going toward counterterrorism and emergency preparedness. Cayuga County will be receiving over 154-thousand-dollars, Ontario County gets nearly 200-thousand-dollars, just under 60-thousand-dollars for Seneca County, almost 170-thousand-dollars is going to Wayne County, over 114-thousand-dollars in Tompkins County, and more than 657-thousand-dollars to Monroe County.
In a statement, State Senator Pamela Helming says the recent hurricanes and the 16th anniversary last week of the 9/11 attacks serve as reminders about the threats posed to our communities by natural disasters and terrorism. Helming represents the 54th District, which covers all six counties.
