Shirley (Sweet) Burnisky, 89, passed away at home on Toll Road last Friday, (September 1, 2017).
There will be no prior calling hours, a private burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends and Family are invited to Celebrate Shirley’s life Sept 15 (Friday) at the Phelps American Legion from 6 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made to the Phelps Community Center or the Clifton Springs Library in her memory
She enjoyed her family and friends, was an avid card player and the president of the Melvin Hill Cemetery Association.
Shirley was the youngest daughter of the late Charles and Lina (Ingraham) Sweet. She is survived by her children Rodger (Donna McAllister) Burnisky of Dahlonega, Ga.; David (Cheryl) Burnisky of Southfield; Mich, Kathleen (David) Mowers and Paul (Shirley) Burnisky both of Phelps, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Emil J. Burnisky, and sisters Frances (Norman) Lannon, Charlene Sweet, Doris (Clarence) Guard, and Helen (Carl) Hubbard.
Funeral arrangements have bee made with the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps.
