Ernest Robert John Conti, long time resident of Auburn, New York, passed away peacefully Aug. 31, 2017, at the age of 91. Ernie was born in Auburn Jan. 31, 1926, to Louis and Rose (Cardinale) and resided there until two years ago when he moved to Washington State to live closer to his oldest daughter.
Ernie married the love of his life, Lois (Stearns) and raised two daughters, Holly Conti and Carol (Bernie) Davidson in Auburn. The pride of his life was his grandson, Bradley Coffey. He also has numerous treasured nieces and nephews.
Ernie lived a full life and frequently spoke about how blessed he was. A product of the depression, he was thankful, resourceful and as tough as you can get.
His most valued accomplishment in life was his family. He was a fantastic Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and cherished Cousin.
His proudest accomplishment was serving as an Army scout in the Philippines during World War II. He had great pride in defending his country; he was wounded and received a Purple Heart, as his Father before him in WWI.
In lieu of flowers feel free to donate time to an organization that supports our veterans.
