In boys’ high school soccer last night, Geneva mauled Midlakes, 11-0; Brockport doubled up Victor, 4-2; and HF-L edged Webster Schroeder, 3-2. On the girls’ side, HF-L blanked Canandaigua, 2-0.
In New York-Penn League baseball last night, in a game you heard on WAUB, the Auburn Doubledays opened their 3-game set with Batavia on a high note, picking up a 4-1 win with 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th. The two teams head to Batavia to resume the series at 7:05 tonight.
In the International League, the Rochester Red Wings dropped the opener of their series with Buffalo, 2-1 in 11 innings. Same two teams back at at 6:05 at Frontier Field. The Red Wings remain in front of the IL Wild Card standings by 2 games. Meanwhile, the Syracuse Chiefs continue to slide, as they were drubbed by Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 9-1. They’ll square off again in Scranton at 6:35.
The New York Giants are back in action tonight, as they take on the New York Jets at Metlife Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 on your radio home for Giants football, Finger Lakes News Radio. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills will tee off at Baltimore, also at 7 o’clock.
