Rita Lynch Dusel, 92, of Auburn, passed away on Aug. 25, 2017 at her home in Auburn. She was born to Erma and Joseph Lynch on Feb. 28, 1925 and graduated from Central High in 1942. In 1947 she married the love of her life, Gene, and they built a home in the Town of Owasco where they raised their three children.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Denny) Jarman, of Auburn; son, David (Kathy) Dusel, of Allen Park, Mich., and daughter-in-law, Joanne Dusel, of Skaneateles. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Lori (Joseph) Stanley, of Allen Park, Mich., Michael (Sarah) Dusel, of Raleigh, N.C., Robert Dusel, of New York City, Alix (Brian) Hutchison, of Lockport, N.Y., Jenna Jarman and Lindsay Jarman, of Auburn. She also was loved by her six great-grandchildren, Ashley and Trevor Stanley, of Allen Park, Mich., Jack, Owen, and Luke Dusel, of Raleigh, N.C., and Merritt Thomas Hutchison, of Lockport, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 69 years, Eugene Dusel; loving son, Thomas Dusel, and dear brother, Robert Lynch.
A funeral Mass celebrating Rita’s life is being held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 21, in Sacred Heart Church, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. in the church.
Rita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who spent her life loving, caring, and enjoying her family. Her kindness, concern for others, and strong faith is known by all who were blessed by knowing her. Her favorite charity for years has been St. Jude’s Hospital, so family is requesting that any donations may be made to them in her memory or to Hospice of the Finger Lakes.
Arrangements are being handled by Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc., of Auburn.
