Investigators believe discarded cigarettes are to blame for Wednesday’s fire at a Dryden apartment complex that displaced 31 people.
The fire broke out around 5:30 p.m. and was reported as a front porch fire that was spreading quickly. All occupants of the 8-unit, multi-family apartment building evacuated safely. It took 5 hours for the fire to be brought under control.
The American Red Cross is helping the impacted residents.
