The two Schuyler County men convicted of raping an 18 year old girl at a State Route 414 residence back in August of 2015 have been sentenced by Judge Dennis Morris.
23 year old Aaron Bowen, of Beaver Dams, and 22 year old Jeffrey Forney, of Watkins Glen, were each found guilty following separate bench trials held in June. Both were accused of providing alcohol to the victim at Forney’s home before raping the girl that had become so intoxicated, she was physically helpless. The victim was non-responsive and in a state of undress when she was found the next morning in a grassy area next to a parking lot off Old Ithaca Road in Horseheads.
Forney, who was convicted of predatory sexual assault, was sentenced to 21 years to life in prison.
Bowen was sentenced to 8 years behind bars and 7 years post-release supervision following his conviction on rape and criminal sexual act charges.
