It’s a full agenda for tonight’s Auburn City Council meeting. There are a number of resolutions in support of authorizing 2017 NYS Consolidated Funding Applications. Among them are applications for water quality improvements at Auburn’s filtration plant, remediation efforts at the Schines Theater and support for Cayuga County’s application for additional funding to complete the entire Owasco Flats Wetland Restoration and Riparian Buffers Initiative.
Public Utilities Director Seth Jensen tells Finger Lakes News Radio the city owns roughly 100 acres of land in the Owasco Flats
Last Friday, the Department of Environmental Conservation issued Cayuga County its permits to build, with construction on phase one expected to begin in September, almost 8 years since the Initiative was conceived.
