Arlene B. Calhoun, 77, of Locke, went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 19, 2017.
Mrs. Calhoun was born June 15, 1940 in Auburn, a daughter of the late Coral and Florence (Cottet) Bennett. She was a graduate of Union Springs High School and had been a lifelong southern Cayuga County resident. Arlene was formerly employed at Statler Hall at Cornell University, and retired from Cornell after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of the Groton Assembly of God, and in earlier years had been a Cub Scout leader. Arlene was devoted to her family, to her faith, and to always being a hard worker.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Addy (William), of Genoa, and Linda Flick (David), of Auburn; a son, Jamie Calhoun, of Locke; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betsy Gibbs (David), of Saratoga, and Janice Sanders (Lowell), of Newburgh; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Donald R. Calhoun, in 2000, and by a son, Charles Wesley Calhoun, in 1990.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 22 in the Groton Assembly of God, with the Rev. Sam Neno officiating. Interment will follow in Indian Mound Cemetery, Moravia. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday in the church prior to the services.
