Syracuse University has officially announced that Scott Shafer will be the new head football coach for the Orange.
For the past four seasons, Shafer has been the defensive coordinator for SU.

In an announcement on the Syracuse's athletics website, the university called Shafer "one of the top defensive minds in college football."
In a release sent out by the school, Shafer indicated that he is looking forward to the chance to lead the SU program.
