Richard C. Lathrop

WEBSTER - Richard C. Lathrop, 90, passed away on March 28, 2013, at his home. Richard was born on Jan. 17, 1923, in Rochester and was the son of Clarence Lathrop and Ina Burnett. After graduating from Shortsville High School in 1940, he served in the U.S. Air Force. After his Air Force service, Richard worked for Eastman Kodak Co. for 40 years and later ran his own business, Lathrop Marine in Webster. He is survived by his loving wife of over 70 years, Ann (Record) Lathrop, whom he married on Dec. 12, 1941; two sons, Charles R. "Dick" Lathrop of Rochester and Scott A. (Janet) Lathrop of Illinois; one daughter, Sally A. (Bill) Botelho of Key West, Fla.; and grandchildren, Daniel and Michael Lathrop, both of Rochester, and Alan, Matt (Tahnee) and Emily (Dylan Taylor) Lathrop, all of Illinois. Friends may call on Monday, April 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 N. Main St., Manchester. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. After the service, friends are invited to join the family at Manchester Methodist Church, 12 State St., Manchester, for a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to Fred P. Record Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Red Jacket School District, 1506 Route 21, Shortsville, NY 14548.
