WATERLOO - Mrs. DiFazio passed away Tuesday (March 26, 2013) at her home.
Services for JoAnn DiFazio, age 77, of Dublin, Ga. will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday (March 29) in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Georgia, with burial to follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Father Richard Hart and Rev. Donnie Baker will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Gilbert, Hank Cullens, Nick Davis, Will Davis , Darin Lyles and Kevin Lyles.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of choice.
Mrs. DiFazio was born in Stroudsburg, Penn. and lived in Waterloo, New York for many years. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception. She worked for 20 years at WMLT Radio Station and with her co-workers began the Dublin- Laurens County St. Patrick's Festival. JoAnn was a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women, Order of the Blarney Stone and the Dublin/Laurens Women's Bowling Association.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra DiFazio Jones (Lon) of Macon; son, Stephen Paul DiFazio (Angela) of Dublin; grandchildren, Jaime Gallagher Mills (Kevin) of Macon, Michael Paul Gallagher (Casey) of Macon, Derrick Gilbert (Brook) of Dublin, Jordan DiFazio, of Dublin, Luke DiFazio of Dublin, Derrick Jones (Amanda) of Silver Springs, Md.; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Blanks of Macon, Drake and Dianna Jones of Silver Springs, Md., Chase Gallagher of Macon, Ethan Mills of Macon, and Briar Gilbert of Dublin.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Paul DiFazio; father, Harry Walker; mother and stepfather, Harriett and Mose Wyatt.
