WEEDSPORT | Jacqueline L. Herendeen died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at her East Brutus Street home in Weedsport. Born Jan. 22, 1926 in Interlaken, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Wixom Dickerson. She was a graduate of Interlaken High School, and the Rochester Business Institute. Jacqueline worked for many years as the personal secretary for the president of the medical school at the University of Rochester. She had also been employed with St. Mary's Hospital billing department, ASCAP, the Sampson Naval Base Post Office, and the Boys Scouts of America in the Rochester area, as well as Strong Memorial Hospital. She was known for her artistic talent, and was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, Weedsport. Most of Jacqueline's life was spent caring for her children and elder members of her family. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Herendeen, of Weedsport; four sons, Paul (Carol) Herendeen, of Buffalo, Gary Herendeen, of North Carolina, Ronald Herendeen, of Rochester, and Thomas (Allison) Herendeen, of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Jeffery, Andrew, Alex, and Samantha and two brothers, Robert Dickerson, of Auburn, and David (Katy) Dickerson, of Florida. Mrs. Herendeen was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Lawrence B. Herendeen, and a sister, Jean Andrews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Church, Weedsport. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Interlaken. Friends are invited to call on the family from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport.
