CLYDE - Mr. David H. Kell, 88, of 143 West Dezeng St., Clyde died unexpectedly on St. Patrick's Day (March 17, 2013) at the Newark Wayne Community Hospital.
At Mr. Kell's request, there will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend his graveside services on Saturday (March 23) at 11:00 a.m. in the South Lyons Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Clyde Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 245, Clyde, NY 14433 would be appreciated.
David was born in Lyons, N.Y. on August 01, 1924, the only child of David A. and Alice Bourne Kell. He attended Lyons schools and then went on to study at RIT. He was drafted by the US Army in 1943 and served our country until December 1945.
Mr. Kell married the former Mary Dunham on September 29, 1947. She predeceased him in 2010. Dave was an avid basketball football and baseball fan, favoring both the NY Giants baseball and football teams. He was a member of the American Legion in Saranac Lake, N.Y. and loved hunting, fishing and traveling around the countryside. He also enjoyed his winters in Cocoa Beach, Fla. He retired after 34 years of service at the USS Agri-Chemical Co. of Lyons.
Surviving are his children, Robert (Lynda) Kell of Clifton Springs, Mary (Michael) Salerno of Lyons, Steve (Sue) Kell of Clifton Springs and Jim (Heidi) Kell of Clyde; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and his favorite cousin, Bruce Bohner of Wisconsin.
