CLYDE, N.Y. - Virgal L. Patchen, 81 of Clyde, Hunts Corner Rd. (Formerly of Watertown) died Saturday (March 16, 2013) at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Friends may call Tues. 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pusateri-Canolesio Funeral Home, 68 Sodus St., Clyde, N.Y. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Wed. at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dana Rattray. Burial in Maplegrove Cemetery, Clyde.

Virgal was born in natural Bridge, N.Y. Aug. 20, 1931, son of Harold and Lera Hicks Patchen. He operated his own painting and roofing contracting business for over 40 yrs. He also was a bus driver, ran a gas station, worked at Bordens and St. Regis Paper Mill.
Survived by his wife of 36 yrs., Darlene Van Allen Fratus Patchen; his loving children, Virgil (Dawn) Jr., Doug (Heather), Gary (Kathy), Martin (Kersten), Mia (Suzanne), Renee (Bruce), Marsha (Dale) Patchen, Darrin, Arthur (Kim), Tim (Mary) Fratus; five sisters, Margaret McEkron, Aleta Meeks, Patricia Kirkland, Shirley Curtis and Charlotte Bishop; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
Predeceased by brothers and sisters, Bernice, Harold Jr., James and Ruth.
