Geneva - Donald J. Gallipeau, 87, of Geneva passed away Sunday (March 17, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital.
There will be no prior calling hours. Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Donald was born on June 24, 1925 in Geneva, the son of the late John P. and Lulu Stowell Gallipeau. He served in the US Army in the 101st Airborne Battalion 463rd PFA as a paratrooper serving overseas in World War II and the Battle of the Bulge. Don retired after many years from Hobart College where he worked in the security department.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor P. Gallipeau; his children, John E. (Aimee) Gallipeau of Hammondsport and Kathryn (Scott) Trefz of Canastota; four grandchildren, Tamra (Michael) Carroll, Ralph E. Gallipeau, Jessica and Abigail Trefz; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Hanna, Victoria, Cameron, Zachary, Andrew, and Jared.
Donald was predeceased by his son, David B. Gallipeau in 2010.
