Robert E. Wilson May 23, 1922 - Feb. 12, 2013 PITTSFORD - Robert E. Wilson, age 90, passed away on Feb. 12, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, June (Alice Denney Strait); sons, Robert (Anne) and Steven; stepchildren, Cynthia (Steve Smith), Anne (Rob Wilson, Stephen Strait (Debbie) and Daniel Strait (Susan); grandchildren, Ben (Lauren) Wilson, Alicyn (Matt) Preall, Adam (Jen) Wilson, Zachary Wilson, Alaina and Kate Smith and Bradley and Leann Strait; great-grandchildren, Eliot Wilson and Emmy Preall; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was a native of Niagara Falls, N.Y. He was the son of the late Peter and Louise Wilson and brother of Carolyn Vorwerk. He served with the U. S. Army Air Force for four and a half years in the Philippines during World War II. After the war ended, he went on to graduate from Niagara University and marry the late Marilyn Guenther. Bob had lived in Rochester for over 50 years. He was employed for many of those years in the casualty insurance business until forming and becoming a partner in Wilson & Longwell. Bob was active at First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford and loved to sing with his beautiful tenor voice. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 25 Church St., Pittsford. Interment will be in White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford.
