Geneva - Edgar J. Cottrell, 86, of Lewis St. passed away on Saturday (January 26, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital.
Family and friends may call on Thursday (January 31) from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and the home of Edgar's daughter, Beverly at 13 Bay View Terr. Geneva. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Edgar was born on May 26, 1926 in Dublin, N.Y. the son of the late James and Elisabeth Heinrichs Cottrell. He owned and operated the Minute Man Gas Station in Geneva for many years and then continued working at the Happiness House until his retirement.
Edgar loved camping, gardening and collecting coins and was well known for his sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen, who have known each other for 79 years; his children, Beverly (Roland) Penta of Geneva, Steven Cottrell of Geneva and Ruth (Dana Marquart) Blowers of Geneva; grandchildren, Brittany Penta, Michael Penta, Kathryn (William) Penta Lynch, Adam (Amanda Patnesky) Blowers and Kelsey Blowers; great-grandchildren, Claire Penta and Riley Schummer; sisters, Mary Ridley of Waterloo and Carol (Mickey) Gillotti of Shortsville; several nieces and nephews.
Edgar was predeceased besides his parents, by seven siblings.
Arrangements are being handled by the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home.
