SCIPIO CENTER | Leslie Lindvall Wood, 62, of Scipio Center, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, after many long and difficult illnesses. Leslie was born May 10, 1950 in International Falls, Minn. and was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Lorraine Kyle Lindvall, of Litchfield, Minn. Leslie is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Aurora and her fiancÃ©, Christopher Kessler, of Ithaca; a sister, Kristine Lindvall, of Mankato, Minn.; brothers, Jason Lindvall, of Bloomington, Minn., Rory Lindvall, of Windom, Minn. and Kyle Lindvall, of Seattle, Wash., along with their families. Leslie was an extraordinary woman of exceptional courage, knowledge and wisdom. We will miss her love and guidance. The world is diminished by her loss. Leslie attended Huron College in South Dakota. She worked for many years with the handicapped and challenged. She retired from the Cayuga County Mental Health Services as a case manager. During her life, she touched the lives of thousands of people. Leslie also participated as a Freedom Rider in the 1960s. Services will be held Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at the Wade Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Moravia, NY, with visiting hours from 9 to 11 a.m. A devotional service will be at 10 a.m. by Pastor Bob Canino. Also visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Her family wished to thank our friends and family for their support during this difficult time.
