Seneca Falls/Phelps - Terri (Whitacre) Poormon, age 40, of Leader Road died on Sunday (January 13, 2013) at the Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street, Phelps. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Seneca Bible Baptist Church 1859 Auburn Road (5&20), Seneca Falls with Pastor Terry Fenton officiating.
It is requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations in Terri's memory be made to the Finger Lakes Cancer Center 4 Coulter Road Clifton Springs, NY 14432.
Terri was born on March 16, 1972 in Rochester, New York the daughter of Teddy and Sandra Erickson Whitacre. Terri was a very positive and strong person. She was loving, self-giving and was always there for others regardless of how she felt. She was very devoted to Breast Cancer Awareness. Terri loved to make people laugh and thats how her family will remember her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Poormon of Seneca Falls; two stepdaughters, Michelle and Amanda Poormon of Seneca Falls; her parents, Teddy and Sandra Whitacre of Phelps; sister, Kimberly (David) Kalwarovski of Phelps, twin sister, Tammy Whitacre of North Rose; paternal grandmother, Dae Whitacre of Florida; maternal grandfather, Douglas Erickson of Rochester; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carol and Teddy Poormon of Waterloo; brother-in-law, Robert (Sonya) Poormon of Waterloo' several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family; her special niece like daughter, Emily; adopted grandfather, Robert McIntyre of Penn Yan.
