Margaret "Maggie" Ross Bankert, age 82, died Sunday (January 13, 2013) at Clifton Springs Hospital Nursing Home.
Friends may call Friday (Jan. 18) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home, 2583 E. Main St., Gorham. A funeral service will be held Saturday (Jan. 19) at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Phelps.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Fund, Clifton Springs Nursing Home, 2 Coulter Rd., Clifton Springs, NY 14432.
Maggie was the daughter of the late Clayton and Ellen Bullock Ross. She married George E. Bankert on Sept. 11, 1948 in Phelps. George predeceased her in 2007.
Maggie is survived by three daughters, Kay (Jerry) Coffey of Phelps, N.Y., Cheryl (Howard) Burger of Pavilion, N.Y. and Marie (Dwayne) Davis of Shortsville, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia (Chuck) Miller and Carol Updyke; one brother, James (Theresa) Ross; brother-in-law, Robert (Sandy) Bankert; sister-in-law, Betty Bankert; and several nieces and nephews.
Maggie was also predeceased by her sister, Ruth (Richard) Alcock; brother, Bob (Josie) Ross; and two brothers-in-law, Thomas Bankert and Paul Bankert.
The Bankert family would like to thank the Clifton Springs Nursing Home staff for their excellent care of Maggie.
