AUBURN | Stanley J. Belz, 94, formerly of Case Avenue, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center. A life resident of Auburn, he was the son of the late, Ignatius and Catherine Walawender Belz. He was a communicant of St. Hyacinth Church, where he served as an usher for many years. Stanley was an Army veteran of World War II and was employed by Auburn Plastics, until his retirement. In addition to his parents, Stanley was predeceased by his sister, Lorretta Smartz, in 2002; an infant brother, Walter Belz and his niece, Christine Smartz. He is survived by friends and relatives, Joseph Spin and his wife, Judith, of Cayuga and their children, Scott Spin, of Auburn, Julie Spin Walsh, of Camillus and Edward Jones and family. A committal service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, in St. Joseph's Cemetery Mausoleum. There will be no prior calling hours. Contributions in memory of Stanley may be made to the charity of the donor's choice . Arrangements are by the Nicpon Funeral Home.
