Newark - Steven "Sach" F. Burgess (January 4, 2013) at age 62.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday (January 12) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark. Friends and family are invited to the Newark Elks Club, South Main Street, Newark immediately following the service. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael's Church, 401 South Main Street, Newark, NY 14513.
Sach was born November 25, 1950, in Newark, N.Y. to Frederick W. and Ann M. (DeVries) Burgess. Sach was a graduate of Newark High School, member of St. Michael's Church, and served in the U.S Navy. He was employed for many years in his family's various businesses. Sach's love of sports and unique personality will be remembered by countless friends.
He is survived by his mother, Ann M. (DeVries) Burgess; and one sister, Julia (Tony) Celestino, both of Kissimmee, Fla.; eight brothers, Terence (Roxanne), Matthew (Wendy), Christopher (Sheila), Frederick III (Shelly) Burgess of Newark, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Burgess of Chesapeake, Va., Jay (Esmeralda) of Sugarland, Texas, Joseph (Karen) Burgess of Henderson, N.V., Thomas (Julie) Burgess of Phelps, N.Y., 27 nieces and nephews, 18 great-nieces and nephews; one aunt, Elizabeth (DeVries) Griffith and many cousins.
He is predeceased by his father, Frederick W. Burgess, Jr.; uncles, Frederick J. DeVries and Timothy Burgess.
