WEEDSPORT | Nellie A. Goodsell Kinney, 94, of 2797 Sharon St., Weedsport, passed away peacefully on New Year's Eve. Nellie had been a resident of Weedsport since 1943, having grown up in Sterling and graduated from Fair Haven High School, class of 1936. Nellie was the daughter of the late, Clinton and Reba Goodsell. Nellie continued her education at Oswego Normal School, now SUNY Oswego, majoring in elementary education. Prior to her retirement in 1974, Nellie taught for 30 years at Weedsport Elementary School teaching fourth, first, and kindergarten. Nellie was very active in many professional, civic, social, and religious organizations and activities right up until her passing. Predeceased by her husband, Fred, in 2009, Nellie is survived by her son, David, of Weedsport; her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Roy Weymouth, of Canandaigua and New Milford, Conn.; her granddaughters, Kate and Lee Weymouth, of Manhattan; grandchildren, Heather, Rachel, and Scott Kinney, of California. Nellie is also survived by a half-sister, Marian Uplinger, of Arkansas; half-brother, Merrill Goodsell, of Florida; sister-in-law, Maxine Goodsell, of Sterling. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, for a memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church of Weedsport, 8871 South Seneca St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nellie's memory to the First Presbyterian Church, P.O.
