Joseph Jay Maslyn MANCHESTER - Joseph Jay Maslyn passed away on Dec. 19, 2012, at the age of 89. He was predeceased by his twin brother, John. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Mildred (Fish) Maslyn; sons, Mark (Nancy) Maslyn and Jay (Leslie) Maslyn; daughter, Mary Bardun-Maslyn; grandchildren, Katrin, Jillian, Abbey, Jenna, Elissa, Ryan, Brent (Katie), Drew and Rachel; and brother, Vincent Maslyn of New Jersey. Mr. Maslyn served with the U.S. Army during World War II in France and Germany. He retired from the New York State Department of Agriculture. He was a member of St. Dominic Church in Shortsville, American Legion and Lions Club. He served as a member and past president of the Red Jacket Central School board. Mr. Maslyn enjoyed traveling and vacationing in the Adirondacks. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sainsbury Funeral Home, 78 W. Main St., Shortsville. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, Main Street, Shortsville. Contributions in Jay's memory may be made to St. Dominic Church or a charity of the donor's choice .
