Phelps - Gerald W. "Jerry" VanCamp, age 75, died on Sunday (December 16, 2012).
Friends may call on Wednesday (Dec.19) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street Phelps. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the United Church of Phelps with Rev. A.J. Tierson officiating. Private burial will be in Resthaven\Cemetery.

Jerry was born on November 1, 1937 in Phelps, N.Y. the son of the late William and Edith Veeder VanCamp. He graduated from Phelps Central High School in 1955. He was a US Navy Veteran and was a member and current Vice-Commander of the Phelps American Legion. Jerry was honored with being named the 2012 Legionier of the Year. He retired from Agway after 50 years and was currently employed by Phelps Merchantile.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna VanCamp of Phelps; brother, Ronald (Sue) VanCamp of Phelps; sister, Linda (Bill) Guest of Palmyra; special friend, Edna Bush of Penfield; brother-in-law, Bud (Ruth) Nayaert of Phelps; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy who died in 2001.
