NEW HOPE | Pauline "Mary" Anderson, 87, of Glen Haven Road, New Hope, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012. Mrs. Anderson passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Patricia, in Gouverneur, where she had been cared for during her illness. A lifelong resident of New Hope, "Mary," as she was affectionately known, was the daughter of the late Clinton and Elizabeth Dennis Brown. She was a graduate of Moravia High School, and Auburn Business School, and had previously been employed at Welch Allyn, the Shoe Form Co. and the Cayuga County Public Health Department. "Mary" was a lifelong member of the Midlakes United Methodist Church, where she was past president of the women's group. She was a charter member of the New Hope Fire Department Auxiliary and a former volunteer at Auburn Community Hospital. "Mary" enjoyed camping, floral arranging, but mostly she cherished the time spent with family and friends. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her two daughters, Patricia (James) Meagher, of Gouverneur and Ellen (Jeffrey) Sweet, of Cortland; four sons, Clinton (Cindy) Anderson, of Moravia, Wayne (Maryann) Anderson, of Auburn, K. Thomas (Marie) Anderson, of Virginia and John (Marian) Anderson, of Auburn; a stepson James Lynn (Wanda), of Arizona; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in Midlakes United Methodist Church, in New Hope. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to call on the family from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, prior to services at the church.
