WEEDSPORT | William G. Stott, 84, of Mechanic Street, Weedsport, passed away peacefully at his home, Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012. William was born in Auburn on Nov. 9, 1927, the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Payne Stott. He proudly served his country while enlisted in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard. He was stationed aboard the SS West Lynn-Victory during World War II. William was employed as a machinist at Carrier Corp, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0911 of Cato. William enjoyed golfing and bowling in leagues with his friends; he belonged to the 700 Bowling Club. He also enjoyed working on puzzles and numbers, camping with his family and snowmobiling with the “Winter Wanders Club.� William is survived by his loving wife and friend of 59 years, Jane Ehresman Stott; his daughters, Debra (Brad) Clements, of Weedsport and Cheryl (Jim) Hoffman, of Sennett; his son, William (Tammy) Stott, of Weedsport; his beloved grandchildren, Dana Bergholtz, of San Antonio, Holly Bergholtz, of Altanta, Christopher Hoffman, Jessica Hoffman, Chad Stott, of Rochester and Jordan Stott; his two great-grandchildren, Loren Bergholtz and Carson Bergholtz. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Earl Stott; his sister, Alice Stott and his pet cat, Oliver. Friends may visit with his family from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, with services immediately following at 2:30 p.m., at the White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Weedsport. Donations in memory of William G.
