AUBURN | Dora M. DiMatteo Marangola, 91, of Lake Avenue, Auburn, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, Oct. 27, 2012, at her home. She was born in Abruzzi, Italy, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Anna Lapore DiMatteo and had been an area resident for most of her life. Dora was a longtime communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of it's Sacred Heart Society. Dora was most happy and enjoyed every moment spent with her family and friends. She is survived by three sons; Joseph C. Marangola and his wife, Nina, of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Dr. John P. Marangola and his wife, Nancy, of Syracuse, Charles A. Marangola and his wife, Laurie, of Auburn; brother, Bruno DiMatteo and his wife, Jacqueline, of Auburn, nine grandchildren; Judith Cushing, Beth, Michael, Charles, Robert, Daniel, Kathryn, Timothy and Andrew, all Marangolas; several great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Dora was predeceased by her husband, Charles, in 1977; two sisters and three brothers. There are no calling hours. A private Mass and burial will be held this Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dora's name to a charity of one's choice .
