Canandaigua - Vera (Vogel) Williams, age 87, of Quail Summit, passed away Monday (October 22, 2012) at Hospeace House in Naples.
There will be no calling hours. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday (November 4) at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 100 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Overackers Cemetery, Middlesex.

Mrs. Williams was born in Italy, N.Y. and was the daughter of Thomas and Edith (Strubel) Vogel. She was raised in Middlesex, attended Middlesex schools and was a graduate of Middlesex Valley Central School, class of 1942. Mrs. Williams worked as an executive secretary at F.F. Thompson Hospital, for over 25 years. She also worked at the wine tasting room at Sonnenberg Gardens and Widmer's Winery. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Middlesex Methodist Church and most recently attended the First United Methodist Church in Canandaigua. She was also a member of the F.F. Thompson Hospital Guild. Mrs. Williams enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Phillip (Nancy) Williams and Ronald (Sandra) Williams; three grandchildren, Cheryl (Greig) Holman, Kerri (Carl) Schwartz and Matthew (Megan) Williams; 12 great- grandchildren, Jeffrey, Gretchen, Andrew and Sumana Holman, Ruby, Lily, Daisy and Thorn Schwartz, Brady, Cara, Eli and Allison Williams; three nephews, Rev. Stuart (Martha) Mitchell III, Dale Mitchell and Paul (Joan) Mitchell; and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, George A. Williams in 1980; son, Jonathan Williams in 1973; brother, Lester Vogel; sister, Bessie Vogel; sister-in-law, Helena Mitchell; brother-in-law, Stuart Mitchell II; and nephew, George Mitchell.
