James Joseph Parks, 92, of Brentwood, Calif., passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, with his loving wife and family at his side. James enjoyed a vibrant and fulfilling life. He was born in New York City and joined the Navy as a medical corpsman in 1942. In 1944, he married Dorothy Burridge and together they shared their lives for 68 years, raising four children. During his professional career, James played a vital role in developing the music industry into the age of stereo sound. This included associations with Fisher Radio, The Wurlitzer Company and Panasonic. James is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; devoted children, Joseph, of Oakley, Calif; Gerry, of Bay Point, Anne, of Riverside, Calif; and Matthew, of Las Vegas. He is also survived by his brother, Johnny of Pearland, Texas; sister, Dorothy (Dotsie), of Houston; along with his grandchildren, Dorothy, Jessica, Nicole, James, Nicholas, Sean, Ashley, and great grandchild, Lucy. James' generous and loving spirit will be missed dearly by everyone who loved him. A Mass and funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 3351 Contra Loma Blvd., Antioch, Calif.
