AUBURN | Robert W. "Buzz" Barton, 87, of Jarvis Street, Auburn, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Auburn Community Hospital surrounded by his family. Robert was born on June 15, 1925, the son of Alice Higgins Dabinett and William Barton. He attended St. Alphonsus School and was a graduate of East High School in Auburn. He retired as assistant manager from Acme Markets and belonged to UFCW Local One. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Over the years, he enjoyed golf, shooting pool and bowled in many city leagues. He did the crossword puzzle every day, and loved listening to music and watching sports on TV. He especially loved the fall season and the World Series. The "loves of his life" were his wife, three daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are his daughters, Nancy M. and James Robinson, Donna L. and Rick Brooks, Judy L. and Ormonde King, of Auburn; grandchildren, Beth and Geoffrey Jones, of Holly Springs, N.C., James Robinson, Mark Robinson, Mathew Brooks, Jenna Brooks, Ormonde King, Jr., Brendan King; great-grandchildren, Lucas, James, Marley and Jack, all of Auburn; cousin and best friend Paul Costello, of Auburn, and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his wife, Emily L. Barton, on Aug. 20, 2012. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 in Sacred Heart Church, with interment following in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Church. Memorials may be made to the St. Alphonsus Food Pantry, 10 South Lewis St., Auburn.
