Anthony J. Gallaro

AUBURN | Anthony J. Gallaro, 74, of State Street Road, Auburn, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 at Highland Hospital, Rochester. Mr. Gallaro was born May 25, 1938 in Auburn. He was the son of the late James Vincent Gallaro and Nancy Palumbo Gallaro. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, proudly serving his country from 1956 to 1959. Anthony retired from Welch Allyn of Skaneateles, where he had been employed as a tool and die maker for 30 years. He loved music and had recently taken up cooking. Mostly he will be remembered as a devoted husband to his loving wife of 51 years, Paula Lombardo Gallaro. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Christine (Michael) Sheehan, of Weedsport, and Danielle (Dameon) Barnhart, of Auburn; two sons, Michael Gallaro, of Auburn, and David (Wendy) Gallaro, of Elbridge; seven grandchildren; a sister, Linda (Richard) Anderson, of Minnesota; a brother, Richard (Sharon) Gallaro, of Seneca Falls; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, in White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Friends are invited to call on the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at White Chapel.
