GENEVA - Dale L. Phippen 64 of Kashong Rd., passed away on Sunday (October 7, 2012) in her home surrounded by her family.
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., on Wednesday (October 10) from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday (October 11) in St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial Contributions, in her memory, may be made to the Pluta Cancer Center, 125 Red Creek Drive, Rochester, NY 14623.
Dale was born in Geneva and was a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Cecelia Willis LaVoie. Dale was a graduate of DeSales High School, Class of 1966 and of Brockport State University. She began her teaching career in Newark and then operated a nursery coop and then spent several years in the Geneva School System at West Street School. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish.
She is survived by her husband, Edward F.; her two sons, Benjamin Phippen of Pasadena, Md., and Adam (Lara) Phippen of Severna Park, Md.; three grandchildren, Mia, Lola and Cooper; two brothers, James (Helen) LaVoie and Richard (Patricia) LaVoie both of Geneva; and her sister, Mary Ellen (James) Reed of Fairport; her aunts and uncle, Catherine Murphy and Joseph and Anna Mae LaVoie all of Geneva; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
