Arlene Rita (Miles) Whitney Beloved Mother, Grandmother, & Sister MANCHESTER - Arlene Rita (Miles) Whitney, 76, died peacefully on October 7, 2012 at F.F. Thompson Hospital. Arlene was born January 21, 1936 in Elmira, N.Y., the daughter of Phillip Sr. and Susan Miles. She was a member of Turner-Schrader Post 34 Womens Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and reading. She is survived by; her three sons, Richard (Alicia) Whitney, Ronald Whitney, and Randy Whitney; five grandchildren, Richard, Jordan, Matthew, Justin, and Emily Whitney; and brother, Phillip E. Miles Jr. Friends may call on Thursday, October 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 North Main Street, Manchester. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home following calling hours.
