NEWARK - Jamie O. Garcia, 75, died on Sunday (October 7, 2012) at his home.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday (October 9) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (October 10) at St. Michael's Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will follow at Newark Cemetery.
Mr. Garcia was born on October 25, 1936, in Puerto Rico the son of Pio and Angelita Maldonado Garcia. He retired from the DeMay Living Center where he worked in the housekeeping department. Jaime was a communicant of St. Michael's Church.
He is survived by his wife Dora; his children, Yolibeth (John) Garcia-McGowan of Rochester, Jimmy Garcia of Newark, Teresita Garcia of Geneva, Evelyn Garica of Geneva; step-daughters Doralee (Nectaly) Jimenez of Newark and Lurabin Montes of Conn.; step-son Jose Montes of Clyde; seventeen grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Dilcia Garay and Rosario Garay, both of Newark.
