AUBURN | Carolyn J. Gleason, 84, of Auburn, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Gleason was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late Dr. Raymond and Florence Messer Johnson and resided in the Auburn-Fleming area for all of her life. She was a member of the former Sand Beach Church where she taught Sunday school and served as treasurer. Mrs. Gleason was employed at Auburn Memorial Hospital as an LPN. In addition she worked for the Cayuga County Red Cross which included coordinating the swimming program at Owasco Lake for many years. She was a caregiver for several elderly friends over the years. She particularly enjoyed attending her grandchildren's many activities. Surviving are three sons, Michael Worden, of Skaneateles, Kenneth Worden and his wife, Sharon, of Owasco, Steven Gleason and his wife, Sarah, of Fleming; two daughters, Linda Worden and her husband, David Palochko, of Rye, N.H., Denise Franklin and her husband, James, of Fleming; eight grandchildren, Brian, David, and Jeffery Worden, Jessica, Jason, and Jennifer Franklin, Elizabeth and Charles Gleason; one great-granddaughter, Kayla Worden. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her husband of 31 years in 1990, Charles A. Gleason; and sister, Elizabeth Phillips, of Inver-Grove, Minn. in 2006. Friends are invited to attend a service which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, in Bradley Chapel at a time to be announced. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the Brew Funeral Home, 48 South St. Interment will take place in the Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn.
