AUBURN | Madelyn Wright Blumrick, 88, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at her home. She was born in Auburn on April 8, 1924, the daughter of the late George and Margaret Murphy Wright and had been a life resident. Prior to her retirement, Madelyn had been employed as an registered nurse for more than 20 years at the former Mercy Hospital in Auburn. She is survived by two loving sons, Joseph (Donna) Blumrick Jr., Brad (Diane) Blumrick, all of Auburn; two sisters, Georgann Wright, of Colorado, Oreon (George) Gelarie, of Rochester; four grandchildren, Kelly (Craig) Cargile, Kara (Justin) Musso, Danielle and Jamie Blumrick, all of Auburn; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Madelyn was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Sr. in 1993 and two sisters, Joan Wright and Margaret Trickey. There are no calling hours. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at 11 a.m. Thursday, for a graveside service in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Contributions may be made in Madelyn's memory to a charity of one's choice . Arrangements are by the Pettigrass Funeral Home.
