GENEVA - Frank "Bud" Zimdahl Sr., 87, died on Thursday (July 3, 2014) at Geneva Living Center North.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday (July 8) at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street, Phelps. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the United Church of Phelps with the Rev. Adrian Tierson officiating. Burial will be in Reeds Corners Cemetery.

Mr. Zimdahl was born on October 20, 1926 in Peckville Penn. the son of the late William and Eleanor Doyle Zimdahl. He was an Army Air Corp. Veteran of WWII. Mr. Zimdahl worked for many years and retired from Rice Automotive in Geneva. He was also an Automotive Tech. teacher at Flint BOCES. He and his wife were Foster Parents for 17 years. Mr. Zimdahl worked for Phelps Hometown Pharmacy were he could be spotted washing windows, rolling out the awning or making deliveries.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Daisy Davis Zimdahl of Geneva; children, Debbie (Leo) Fitzgerald of LaJolla, Calif., Frank (Sharon Chang) Zimdahl of Delaware, John (Dorothy) Zimdahl of Niagara Falls, Laurie (Duane) Picchi of Seneca Falls, Michelle (Kyron) Wheeler of Phelps, Virginia (David) Starkey of Penn Yan, Anne (Billy) English of Geneva, Charlotte Lahr of Rochester; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Carroll of Bluff Point; son-in-law, Roy Wilkes of Phelps.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Eleanor Joy Wilkes; his brother who was killed in action in Korea, Donald Zimdahl, and his step-mother, Mary Zimdahl.
