Leona (Cornish) Richards SOUTH BRISTOL - Leona (Cornish) Richards, age 97, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014. She is survived by three children, Alan Richards, Joan (Roland) Hoffman and Kathleen (Larry) Duel; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, George Daniel Richards in 1984; and son, George David Richards in 1977; four brothers, Gordon, Rupert, John and Frank Jr. Cornish; and two sisters, Ella Mae Gormel and Mittie Rose. Mrs. Richards was born in Naples and was the daughter of Frank and Anna (Schenk) Cornish. She attended Naples schools and was a graduate of Naples Central School, class of 1934. Mrs. Richards retired as the South Bristol town clerk after more than 20 years of service. She enjoyed reading, gardening and, most of all, spending time with her family. Mrs. Richards was an avid New York Yankees fan. Friends may call tomorrow (Wednesday) from 3 to 5 p.m. at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Her funeral service will immediately follow visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be in Rose Ridge Cemetery, Naples.
