William Stokes Stubbs, Jr.

William Stokes Stubbs Jr. CANANDAIGUA - William Stokes Stubbs Jr., age 83, a beloved father and grandfather, passed away on April 20, 2014 at F.F. Thompson Hospital. He is survived by his son, W. Gregory (Asha) Stubbs of Webster; daughter, Pam (C. B.) Edgar of Fayette, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Ali, Ari and Colin Stubbs; brother, Robert (Cynthia) Stubbs; and sister, Jean Hemans. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Stubbs in 2008. Mr. Stubbs earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland. He worked as the director of the YMCA in West Irondequoit, Johnstown, Richmond, Ind., Bay City, Mich., and lastly Canandaigua, from where he retired. Mr. Stubbs was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and sang in the choir. He was a dedicated grandfather and an avid outdoorsman. His memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, at noon at St. John's Episcopal Church, 183 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua.
